Plantar fasciitis / Otsego, MN
If your heel hurts the second your feet hit the floor in the morning, you’re in the right place. Here at ChiroFix in Otsego, MN, we treat plantar fasciitis by working on the heel and on the calf that keeps pulling on it.
The basics
Your plantar fascia is a thick, tough band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot, from your heel to your toes. It acts like a bowstring for your arch and takes a lot of load every time you stand, walk, or run.
When that band gets overloaded and irritated, usually where it attaches at the heel, you get plantar fasciitis. It tends to hurt most after rest, which is why those first steps out of bed or out of the car can be the worst part of the day.

Common causes
There’s rarely one single cause. Most of the time it’s a few things stacking up on the same foot:
How we treat it
We usually combine three approaches in the same visit, so we can calm the sore spot and work on what keeps loading it.
Acoustic pulses aimed at the irritated fascia and the soft tissue around it. It’s one of our go-to tools for stubborn heel pain.
About shockwave therapyFine needles into the tight, tender spots in your calf and foot muscles that keep tugging on the fascia.
About dry needlingInstrument-assisted soft tissue work along the calf and the muscles that tie into the bottom of the foot.
20 / 30 / 60-minute visits
Heel pain rarely lives only in the heel. A quick in-and-out visit doesn’t leave time to work the calf, needle the tight spots, and still treat the fascia itself.
Our visits come in 20, 30, and 60-minute lengths, so we can actually do all of that in one appointment, talk through your shoes and your day, and show you what to do at home between visits.
We see heel pain patients from Otsego and nearby towns like Elk River, Albertville, St. Michael, Zimmerman, Ramsey, and Rogers, with weekday and weekend appointments.
Questions
It depends on how long your heel has been hurting and how your body responds. After your first exam we’ll talk through a plan with you, and we check in on progress as we go rather than locking you into a set number.
We’re a cash-pay clinic, and we accept HSA and FSA cards. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, ask us for a detailed invoice you can submit to your insurer. Coverage and reimbursement depend on your plan.
Yes. Acupuncture / dry needling, shockwave, and laser add-ons are $20 total for one or more therapies when added to an eligible chiropractic visit.
Get prompt medical care if your heel pain started with a fall or a pop, if you can’t put weight on your foot, or if you have significant swelling, redness, warmth, numbness, or a fever.
