Hip pain / Otsego, MN
Whether you’re training hard or sitting at a desk all day, your hips take a beating. At ChiroFix in Otsego, MN, we treat hip pain and stiffness by going after the deep muscles that drive it, not just the ones on the surface.
The basics
Your hips are surrounded by layers of muscle. The big ones you can feel, like your glutes, quads, and hamstrings, sit on top of smaller, deeper muscles that steady the joint and control how your pelvis moves.
When those deep muscles get overworked or stuck in one position too long, they tighten down. Rubbing the surface doesn’t reach them, which is why so many people stretch and stretch and still feel locked up.

Common causes
Most of the hips we treat come from one of two lifestyles, or both:
How we treat it
We don’t stop at the surface. Our hip care goes after the deep layers of muscle where hip pain and stiffness usually start, then gets them moving again.

About deep acupunctureCupping to strip out tight quads and hamstrings, the big muscles that pull on the pelvis and keep the hips stiff.
About cupping the quads & hamstringsHands-on pressure into the deep hip muscles while you move through your range of motion, so the muscle releases and learns to move again.
20 / 30 / 60-minute visits
Hip pain usually involves the low back, glutes, quads, and hamstrings, not just the hip joint. Getting deep enough into all of that takes more than a few minutes.
We book 20 minutes for one or two areas, 30 minutes for three or four, and 60 minutes for the whole body. Athletes often like 30 or 60 minutes so we can work the hips and everything around them in one session.
We see active people and desk workers with tight, sore hips from Otsego, Elk River, Albertville, St. Michael, Zimmerman, Ramsey, and Rogers, including on weekends.
Questions
It depends on how long your hips have been bothering you and what’s driving it. We’ll set a plan after your first visit, check how you respond, and step down to maintenance once you’re moving well.
We’re cash-pay for regular visits and accept HSA and FSA cards, with a detailed invoice available for out-of-network benefits. We do accept auto accident and workers’ compensation claims. Call us with your claim information before your first visit.
Usually, yes. We’ll talk through your training and let you know if anything should be modified for a while, so you can keep moving while your hips recover.
See a doctor promptly if hip pain started with a fall or you can’t put weight on your leg, if the hip locks or gives way, or if you have fever, significant swelling, or redness. Get emergency care for sudden severe pain after an injury.
